WORKSHOP OF APPLIED SEISMIC IMAGING OF SUBSURFACE GEOLOGY.

Houston, TX

Start Date:

Feb-10, 2025

End Date:

Feb-14, 2025

Price:

US$ 7,850

This Workshop is designed from an applied standpoint, with numerous exercises and case studies serving to provide critical insight into the use of seismic data in early exploration efforts through later development and reservoir characterization phases. Multiple exercises are used to provide important hands-on throughout the Workshop. Seismic stratigraphic techniques are nowadays part of the standard routine for interpreting seismic datasets and they are a fundamental tool for the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production business. Its added value has been demonstrated over the past few decades by an impressive proven track record in green field hydrocarbon exploration.

Seismic geophysics represents a fundamental tool for both the exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources. This workshop highlights via an exercise-intensive workshop format aspects of interpretation including uncertainty/risk, and in understanding structure, stratigraphy and fluid/rock discrimination. This workshop is designed for those working with reflection seismic data to understand and appreciate the underlying principles and processes leading to final images and associated attributes. Basic seismic imaging principles and techniques are introduced at the outset of the class to establish the purpose, underlying principles, parameterization, and limitations of the various processing steps leading to final seismic images provided by current state-of-the-art imaging techniques. The workshop focuses on 3D seismic data.
